One of the things that I notice over and over, is how many animator struggle to get an appealing pose in their animation, especially students focus only on the animation and they forget about the most important principle.
Doesn't matter how fluid and good your movement looks like, if your pose is not appealing you basically lose 50% of the quality in your animation.
So before I start pose my character i always do a simple sketch to have an idea of what I want to achieve,
only once I have that I can start to pose the character in 3D
