Agora Community is an online animation education platform that combines pre-recorded curriculum, live mentoring, gamification, and community support to create a fun, flexible way to learn animation.

In May 2026, Animation Flow is joining Agora Community, and together, we’re launching an all new animation education platform combining high quality education, gamification, mentorship, and community. With a whole new animation curriculum, rigs, mentorship opportunities, and more, we’re excited to take this next step in providing quality animation education.

Yes! In May 2026, Guilds will be coming to Agora Community. Guilds are live, weekly, group mentorship cohorts led by individual mentors and focus on giving students in-depth mentorship. Guilds will be available to students at the Pro Tier or higher.

The new curriculum will include 20+ prerecorded courses developed by industry professionals and will create a start-to-finish learning path for a student to learn 3D character animation. Within the curriculum there are specialized paths covering Fundamentals, Character Animation, Creature Animation, and Game Animation, allowing students to learn specialized skills needed for their specific career goals. This full curriculum will be available for any students subscribed at the Basic Tier or higher.

Yes! With the new platform there will be weekly, prerecorded Open Review sessions led by Alex Ferreira Simoes. Students at the Basic Tier or higher can submit their homework assignments to open review (8 spots open per a week, first-come-first-serve) and receive prerecorded feedback from Alex.

Anything released on Agora Community previously will remain free and it will still be possible to create an Agora Community account for free. The majority of the new curriculum we’re releasing in May and the upcoming mentorship opportunities will be reserved to paid subscriptions tiers.

There are multiple types of gamification supporting our student learning experience:

Student Skill Tree: Students will have a personalized skill tree map that will track their progress and map out the path they should take to reach their goals.

Agora Tokens: Students will be able to earn Agora Tokens for successfully completed and graded homework assignments, AnimChallenge wins, and more. These tokens will be exchangeable in the Agora Store for character rigs, props, skins, and more.

XP and Levels: Students will receive XP for assignments, participating in the community, and other activities. Earn enough XP and you’ll be able to level up.

Yes! Agora Community, AnimChallenge, and Frame by Frame are all part of the collection of community-focused projects driven by Agora Studio.

AnimChallenge is our community animation competition. We offer a variety of challenge types throughout the year, including 48hr Pose Challenges, 2-week long mini-challenges, and occasionally 24hr Ultimate AnimChallenges.

Frame by Frame is our long-running initiative to analyze and appreciate the craft of animation. Having existed for 6+ years, Frame by Frame has analyzed over 1000 animated shots, live action shots, and illustrations, and they’re still going strong.

Agora is the creator of both Agora Studio and Agora Community. Agora Studio is a professional studio that provides professional animation, rigging, modeling, lighting, and production services to clients, and now has expanded to create original projects like Transferable and other IPs.

Agora Community is our platform dedicated to education and community. We see the value and innovation behind online learning and communities, and, as artists, we’re passionate about giving back to the community as we know we wouldn’t be where we are without the guidance of others.

Ideally, more high quality courses, mentorship, rigs, and more. With the platform launch in May 2026, we’re already taking a big step to the future we want to make for animation education. And following launch, we want to build on top of that work, build a healthy student/mentor community, and create more resources for artists to improve their skill in an effective and fun learning environment.

Open Review is a weekly prerecorded feedback session available to all students subscribed at the Basic Tier or higher. Students can submit any submitted homework assignment to an Open Review Session. Each session has a limit of 8 slots and feedback is given on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Not yet. We plan to launch a subscription tier in the future that provides private mentorship, but the launch date for that is TBD.

No, not all. Some artists purely create prerecorded content for Agora Community, while others offer mentoring as well. To see who else offers mentorship and/or courses on the platform, check out our Teachers and Mentors page.
