Let's Talk Racism
DESCRIPTION
Racism is something that has existed since the 19th century, and even before that.
I'm going to tell you how you and I can help in stooping it.
and it starts with acknowledging the effects of our social identity.
We need to start taking responsibility for what's happening in the world. Are you racist? maybe not, but you and I and everybody else can take action for what happens in the world.
Did I know George Floyd?, no.
Am I black?, no.
Am I even American?, no.
But I assure you eventually this video will be seen by more than one thousand people. What am I doing? Amplifying black voices. We need to stand in solidarity, raise our voices against racism, silence is compliance in this social construct .
Next time you're in a situation where there is a racial discrimination of any kind, speak up, act, do something.
if we stay silent, we become bystanders, we promote apathy, conformity, group polarization.
If you ask yourself how can I change this reality? from now on, you can help by normalizing the act of standing up against unfairness.
The bystander effect happens there are more people, and we realize something wrong is occurring, but we're too shy or awkward to point it out. Cause you don't want to stand out, and our very nature is to fear rejection of people around us. But what if it became normal to stand up for what's right, to call out injustice, so others will see this as more normal as well, and they will start to call out the same things.
Cause imitating is a psychological trait. If we as single independent sheep push forward, the heard will follow.
Have the courage to stand and say they're wrong,
The more we normalize pointing out how wrong those acts are, the more we influence others to do the same thing.
society is an interconnection of many points, if one starts vibrating, like a wave it resonates. Every action you take, has an impact that amplifies and becomes bigger and bigger, like a wave.
patterns of behavior associated with societies are called norms. If we start tickling them we will start shaping the new values we want in the world we live in.
We need to plant more seeds for collective consciousness.
and you! yeah, you have more power than you think. You matter! you are beautiful.
spread love as if it was glitter
and make the world a better place.

but they sound like a million colors in your mind”
