My name is Ilse Zamarripa, welcome to The Worldspace!
Today we have Rodolphe Guenoden, who is a legendary DreamWorks 2D animator. Follow me as he teaches us about story boarding, animation, 2d animation meeting 3D animation, How to plan a shot, Strong acting choices, Keeping consistency while animating in a 2D production, differences between animating male characters vs female ones, appealing poses, his experience at Gobelins, and more. He speaks about animating Chel, who is a very sensual character and how they kept the design of the character under control, but they were able to make her and Tulio have a very explicit relation among one another.
He speaks about The Secret of the Scroll, which he got to direct with Paul McEvoy, the kung Fu sequences of Kung Fu Panda with the music of Hans Zimer, Working with Simon Wells, his experience with Steven Spielberg when planning Balto and going to the premiere of Jurassic Park in London and working with James Baxter on El Camino Hacia el Dorado.
Rodolphe has worked animating, directing, supervising and even doing choreography for films like:
THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, THE ROAD TO EL DORADO, SINBAD, BALTO, KUNG FU PANDA, FIVEL GOES WEST, and many others.
He is one of the most talented 2D animators in the industry, he is surprisingly young and he's just a pleasure to work with!
