When people think exaggeration, squash and stretch, etc. etc., they think energetic Bugs Bunny, but that's only one flavor of how those principles can be used. The subtle, low-energy, sluggish acting achieved through timing, spacing, drag, posing, and more really tells you that Eeyore is a down-in-the-dumps character that sees the negative in everything, even something as positive as getting a nice new tail. Haycock takes character traits (sad, tired, slow, sluggish) and exaggerates them, really communicating his point to the audience.
